Data request failed: unable to access cache data.
Sometimes you can get the message: ”data request failed: unable to access cache data” in Tradestation. An easy solution to chart issues is normally to hit ”Ctrl R”. Which refreshes your chart and solves most issues that come up. However, sometimes you might get an error message that says: ”data request failed: unable to access cache data” and shows a black screen.
Solution Tradestation version 9.5 and 9.1
The solution is quite easy actually. All you need to do is to empty your cache folder. This is how you do that:
- Log out of Tradestation
- Go to your C-Drive
- Locate Program Files in the folder tree
- Find the Tradestation folder
- Locate the Program folder
- Delete the Cache folder completely
- DONE!
After you have done this your charts will work properly again and the ”data request failed: unable to access cache data” – issue is solved.
Solution Tradestation version 10

- Locate the Cache directory in your C-drive:
